You fly around the forest with your flock-members. Sighing, you notice how few birds there are out flying today, even though it's the perfect weather for flying. You see that your flock-members notice that, too. One of them, an older one, mutters something under his breath, and you can just barely make out what he said. "It's happening again..." You look at the bird, and all the other members of your flock do, too. "A long time, before any of you where born, there used to be two 'greater flocks'. All of us are distant relatives of the birds of one of the two 'greater flocks'. They called the other greater flock the 'dark ones'. One day, one of the 'dark ones' attacked the leader of the flock we're related too, and then a war started between the two flocks. After a few years, all of the dark ones where dead, and the leader of the living greater flock decided there are too many birds in his flock, and requested them to all make their own flocks. The birds of that flock agreed and then split up into a bunch of other flocks. The legends say that there where dozens of flocks, but if that's true, then no one knows how they got reduced to 5 flocks." the bird says. "Each of the current five flocks has a different version of the legend, but all of them basically say the same thing..." You and your friends stare at each other questioningly. The elderly bird shakes his head and flies away, leaving all of you confused.
Basically, if you read the intro, the elderly bird told some young birds from his flock a legend. Originally, in the forest that this RP takes place in, there where two huge flocks (the "greater flocks"). One of them was called the Darkened Skies Flock, and the other one was the Cloudy Sun Flock. The legend was from the perspective of the Cloudy Sun Flock. They called the Darkened Skies Flock the "Dark Ones". One day, the leader of the Darkened Skies Flock attacked the leader of the Cloudy Sun Flock, and started a war between the two flocks. It lasted a year. A quarter of the Cloudy Sun Flock was killed, and all of the Darkened Skies Flock was wiped out. The leader of the Cloudy Sun Flock decided the Flock should split up, and five birds asked if they could lead the Flocks. Because five birds volunteered, the Cloudy Sun Flock split up into five Flocks; the Rain Flock, the Snow Flock, the Hail Flock, the Sunny Flock, and the Cloudy Flock. Some birds from the original Cloudy Sun Flock had mates within the Darkened Skies Flock, so some birds still carry Darkened Skies blood. Some legends say that the Darkened Skies Flock knew some magic, and no one knew if that was true. (Secretly, it was :3) Some birds state that if they did know magic, they would of used it to defeat the Cloudy Sun Flock. Others state that if it was true, they may of not known very powerful enough magic to defeat the Cloudy Sun Flock. Others don't believe it (though it is true) at all because they don't believe in magic.
If your confused about what happened in the intro, the elderly bird from the intro knew/though he knew that the dark ones where returning. He got a vision (Look below) that said something (Birds of all kinds, genders, ages and flocks are vanishing. They have become shadows of the darkened skies. They found out some dark secrets and have united. They will try to kill all five, and will succeed in getting revenge for the lost ones.), and know that he saw how little birds where currently flying that day, he understood the prophecy.
This RP is based loosely off of Warrior Cats (they have ranks, like they do in Guardians of Ga'hoole, all of them basically have the same knowledge of everything going on nearby, they use herbs (same ones as Warriors do, except they don't get green-cough), they have their own sort of StarClan, they get prophecies/omens/visions and have some ceremonies.) and Guardians of Ga'hoole (they have books, have kingdoms (erm, in the RP just flocks) and have legends. The only thing is, basically all of the flock are like guardians, and have armour too. The flocks don't live in large trees though, instead they live in "villages" (sort of like a camp from Warriors) and have a bunch of nests/hollows in a bunch of trees that are near each other, and they also use Guardian vocabulary).
Rules:
1. You have to have read at least two books from Guardians of Ga'hoole and Warrior Cats.
2. If your bird is in the new Darkened Skies Flock (they kept the name :3), he/she can have some powers. They can do stuff like make it darker, turn invisible (for a few seconds/minutes), kill something (small (prey)) from a distance without touching it, make small things (worms, bugs, prey, etc.) float, etc. but can't kill a full-grown bird by themselves (that'd take a few birds, depending on what species are attacking what species), hypnotize other birds to do whatever they want them to, etc. Each bird in the flocks has one powerful spell/ability (all of the birds).
3. No mary-/gary-sues. I know it can be a bit hard, what with the powers and everything.
4. Please post 4+ sentences per character per post :3
5. RP as many characters as you can handle
6. Try to keep genders even in the flocks :3
7. Your bird can't mate with a bird that isn't the same species (a woodpecker can't mate with an owl, but an elf owl can mate with any other kind of owl)

Ranks (And What They Do):
Leader: The leader, obviously, leads the flock. He/she is just like a leader from Warriors/King/Queen from Guardians of Ga'hoole.
Leader's Mate: He/she helps the leader make some important decisions and leads the flock when the leader is sick/wounded/etc. Sort of like a deputy (from Warriors), but is always the leader's mate.
Healers: There can be multiple healers. They use the same herbs as warriors do, but they don't use ones like catmint or chickweed because they don't get greencough/blackcough/whitecough/kittencough/etc.. The healers are allowed to have mates, as long as there is two or more healers. They don't get apprentices, they just become healers and learn from the other healers. They're usually birds whose powers would make them better healers and/or having a disability (blindness, deafness, mute, albinism, crippled wing, etc.) that'd make them unable to fight or hunt. (Well, mute birds could be better hunters (they won't be able to scare off the prey unless it notices them) but they won't be able to tell other birds to be quiet so they won't scare off the prey).
Lead Fighter: He/she is the best fighter in the Flock. He/she picks out battle strategies if there is going to be a battle with the Leader and his/her mate. Lead Fighter gets to pick who trains who and when all the fighters train together.
Fighters: They fight for the flock. They also train chicks in groups like chaws, but gets his/her own apprentice. They also have to know a bit of hunting, just in case. They are usually birds whose powers would make them better fighters,
Apprentice Fighters: Whenever a chick becomes a fully fledges bird, he/she becomes an apprentice. They get assigned a mentor, and train with him/her until the apprentice becomes an adult (however old that is for their species).
Lead Hunter: He/she is the best hunter in the flock. He/she gets to pick who goes hunting with who when (sort of like a deputy sending out hunting patrols from Warriors). He/she also gets to pick who trains who.
Hunters: They hunt for the flock. They also gather herbs for the healers and any edible plants they can get if there are herbivores/omnivores in the flock. Unlike fighters, they don't train in groups. Usually, a hunter and his/her apprentice go hunting by themselves so the hunter can observe his/her apprentice without anyone else scaring off the prey/insulting the apprentice/commenting the apprentice/etc.. They also have to know some basics of fighting and usually have powers that'd make them better hunters.
Trainee Hunters: They are fledged chicks who're training to be hunters.
Mothers: They are birds taking care of chicks and eggs. They can't heal/fight/hunt while brooding, because they have to incubate the egg. They can get back to their job as their chick(s) get older, but still has to take care of their chick(s) until they become fully fledged.
Eggs: They are chicks who haven't been born yet and thus are still in their eggs. (Yes, Eggs and Chicks are separate ranks) (Eggs can't be RPed, so if one of your character's is currently an egg, you can't RP it. The parents of the egg have to agree (OOC) when the egg hatches, and then they pick who gets to RP the chick. If there are two chicks, both of them get to RP one chick.)
Chicks: They are young birds who aren't fully fledged yet. Every once in a while, the lead hunter, lead fighter and/or a healer or two will come around to watch the chick and pick what the chick is going to be. If a chick wants a specific rank, they tell the lead hunter if they want to be a hunter, the lead fighter if they want to be a fighter, or the healer(s) that they want too be a healer.
Elders: They are old birds who are too old/sick/injured/etc. to do their job anymore. They are respected by their flock, though sometimes a leader may find them useless and find a way to kill them, and tell young chicks stories when their mothers want a break/do their job/eat.
